There was no such thing as a “gay club” when I was at school. Section 28 made sure of that. So one of the best things about doing author visits in schools today is seeing how much has changed, and how there are now loads of LGBTQ+ societies, full of the most fabulous, kind, wonderful teenagers you could ever hope to meet.
